Biography
“I believe in accountability. Class proceedings empower folks, no matter their backgrounds, in achieving access to justice while holding powerful institutions accountable for their actions.”
Chanèle is an associate in the class action litigation group. Her practice involves representing plaintiffs in class actions, mass torts and complex multi-party litigation, ranging from consumer protection and product liability claims to institutional abuse litigation.
Access to justice is incredibly important for Chanèle. Throughout law school, she acted as a caseworker and Team Lead at Community Legal Services, providing free legal services to folks living with lower-incomes in London and surrounding communities. In addition, she co-authored a FAQ guide for survivors of sexual violence with respect to legal remedies and resources available to them on campus and beyond.
Recently, Chanèle co-founded Legal Information for Sexual Assault (LISA), a pilot program dedicated to providing free and confidential legal information to current Western University students who have experienced sexual assault or abuse. Beyond her role as supervising lawyer, Chanèle is involved in volunteer training, program development, monitoring and evaluation. LISA will continue to provide its services until the end of April 2025, in collaboration with Community Legal Services and with support from Western’s Faculty of Law.
Chanèle was born in Québec City and is fluent in French. Outside of the office, Chanèle is an avid ultimate frisbee player, a D&D enthusiast and an amateur home chef.
