Biography
Manahil Jawad is currently an articling student at McKenzie Lake, having joined the firm as a summer student in 2023.
Manahil earned her Bachelor’s degree from Carleton University in 2019 and completed her postgraduate studies at Western University, graduating in 2021. She then attended law school at Queen’s University Faculty of Law, where she received her Juris Doctor in 2024. Following her first year, Manahil studied International Business Law at Bader College during the summer. In the fall of her third year, she studied at the National University of Singapore.
Throughout law school, Manahil was actively involved in various pro bono and legal aid initiatives, including Pro Bono Students Canada (PBSC) and worked as a caseworker at Queen’s Elder Law Clinic (QELC) and Queen’s Family Law Clinic (QFLC). She also contributed to the Conflicts Analytics Lab (CAL), served as Co-President of both the First Generation Network (FGN) and the Queen’s Asian Law Students Association (QALSA), and was actively involved in several other clubs and societies, such as the Litigation Society, Health Law Club, Tax Law Society, and Law Cancer Society.
In her free time, Manahil enjoys traveling and spending quality time with friends, family, and her beloved puppy, Milo.
