Biography
“I aim to treat every client like they are a part of my family. I would only do my best work for my family, and my clients deserve nothing less.”
Todd W. Devitt practices in the area of business law, with a focus on agri-business and succession planning. Todd has worked extensively with companies of all sizes, often in the farming, construction, and medical industries, to assist with buying and selling businesses and commercial real estate, and with succession planning.
Whether assisting with a business or land acquisition, succession plan, or corporate re-organization, Todd recognizes that legal advice is only one piece of the puzzle. Strong connections with cooperative legal, financial, accounting, and insurance advisors are necessary for the success of any business person. This is why Todd always approaches matters with a team mentality – the focus and goal always being to achieve the best possible outcome for every client.
Todd obtained his law degree from the University of Western Ontario, simultaneously with his Honours Business Administration (HBA) degree from the Ivey Business School, through their dual-degree program. During law school, Todd volunteered at the Elgin-Oxford Legal Clinic in St. Thomas, Ontario. Todd is currently a member of the Canadian Association of Farm Advisors.
Todd grew up in rural Ontario. Outside of the office, Todd enjoys playing hockey, skiing, going to watch movies, and enjoying the outdoors. In his younger days, Todd was President of Western’s Paintball Club, and may have even placed in a Demolition Derby! Now that he is a father, Todd spends most of his free time with his children, including coaching minor league hockey and soccer.
