Chanèle Rioux-McCormick and Hannah Robins Join McKenzie Lake as Associates
We are pleased to welcome Chanèle Rioux-McCormick and Hannah Robins to the firm, as lawyers in our London, Ontario office.
Chanèle and Hannah first joined the firm as Summer Students and then Articling students before returning as Associates to begin their legal practice.
Chanèle recognizes that class proceedings empower folks—no matter their backgrounds—in achieving access to justice while holding powerful institutions accountable for their actions. As an associate in the class action litigation group, her practice involves representing plaintiffs in class actions, mass torts and complex multi-party litigation, ranging from consumer protection and product liability claims to institutional abuse litigation.
Chanèle was born in Québec City and is fluent in French. She received her undergraduate degree in Equity and Diversity Studies at Toronto Metropolitan University, and earned her JD at the University of Western Ontario’s Faculty of Law. During her articles, she co-founded Legal Information for Sexual Assault (LISA), a pilot program dedicated to providing free and confidential legal information to current Western University students who have experienced sexual assault or abuse.
As a family law associate with a background in social work, Hannah understands the nuanced psychological and social concerns of her clients. She pursues strategies that achieve client goals by responding to the complex dimensions of their needs. Her practice encompasses a broad range of family law matters, including parenting issues, property division, domestic contracts and complex financial matters.
Hannah received her Honours Bachelor of Arts from the University of Toronto with a degree in Political Science. She then attended the University of Windsor, where she concurrently earned her MSW and JD. She was called to the Ontario Bar in 2023. During law school, Hannah was a participant in the Walsh Family Law Moot, where her team placed second overall. She also worked at Community Legal Aid, where she provided legal services to low-income residents in the City of Windsor.
Welcome to the firm, Chanèle and Hannah!
